Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling
➢ Contract No. 4800000660
➢ Project Title: NEOM Oxagon Port Demolition Works Project
➢ Project Scope Overview:
Enjazco was responsible for the complete demolition, isolation, decommissioning, Waste Recycling and
site clearance of specific structures (Concrete Buildings, Steel Framework & Pre-Fabricated Buildings)
and assets, as detailed in the project documentation. The execution was carried out in full compliance
with NEOM and International safety, environmental, and operational standards, including the preparation
and approval of comprehensive Method Statement & Risk Assessment (MSRA) documents prior to
commencement.
➢ Asset Categories (Concrete Buildings, Steel Framework & Pre-Fabricated Buildings)
A. Major / Complex – Assets in this category are significant in size and complexity. Typically, their
demolition will require working at height, scaffolding and specialist demolition techniques such as
explosive demolition / blasting. Specific technical machinery may be required. These assets are often
structures with mixed materials such as reinforced concrete that will be difficult to sort and separate e.g.,
concrete rebar. These assets will be connected to significant utilities that will require disconnection.
Additionally, these assets may require considerable remedial earthworks to make good once demolition
is complete.
B. Standard – Assets in this category are of average size and complexity – they would be classed as
medium industrial structures. Typically, their demolition will require some working at height but not usually
above 2 storeys. Specific technical machinery may be required but not extensively. These assets may
have mixed materials, but these will be easy to separate and recycle. They will usually be connected to
utilities that will require disconnection. Additionally, these assets may require small remedial earthworks
to make good once demolition is complete.
C. Minor / Simple – Assets in this category are either partially constructed (incomplete) or simple
structures that are easy to demolish and require minimal material separation. They will not typically require
extensive disconnection of utilities and making good once demolition is complete. They will require few
specialist techniques and work can typically be completed with minimal manpower and basic machinery.
D. Specialist – Assets in this category are not usually buildings but are assets for specific technical
purpose and are stand-alone. For example, telecoms towers or incinerators. These assets may have mixed
materials, but these can be separated and recycled. They will usually be connected to utilities that will
require infrastructure coordination before disconnection and may involve long lead-times for service coordination
with stakeholders. Additionally, these assets may require careful handling of items of high
expense and remedial earthworks to make good once demolition is complete.
